I just watched the Schitt's Creek episode where Moira fakes her death for compliments, and it struck me as vaguely reminiscent of real life events for a reason I can't quite put my finger on.

I've been playing chess regularly against an app for about a month now, and so far my play level has settled at a point where I win about 1/3 of the time, I get my ass kicked about 1/3 of the time, and I get a stalemate about 1/3 of the time because my endgame play is ass. Hopefully I improve.

One of my longshot predictions for a couple of years has been the eventual establishment of The Church of America, with Donald Trump as its first leader. Its membership would be exactly who you expect it would be.

I've been fascinated and horrified by the internet discourse on the shot of Peter Parker's eye in the Spiderman trailer. I feel like people crapping on that shot are people who like comic book movies but don't actually like *movies*.

the dumbest form of politics is yelling at voters after you lose. if you lose it is *always* your fault. every confounding factor in the universe is your job to overcome. if you take a position that is unpopular and don't adjust to learning that, you are bad at running for office.

The first half of the new Pixar movie "Hoppers" is kinda boring, and I couldn’t tell what they wanted to do with it. The second half is *completely unhinged* and some of the most fun I've had with a Pixar film in a long time.

This is a song I kinda liked when I first heard it, and nowadays I absolutely adore it. It's a non-album single by Justin Hayward, with John Lodge on bass and backed by 10cc (!!). Almost nobody who's not a Moody Blues fan knows this song, and everybody should.
