GDC was dope Highlight for me was playing the first ever card game using the Balatro playing cards with a bunch of really awesome indie dev friends I had met over the past couple years!

Things COVID has proven: 1) The job you were told couldn’t be done remotely, can be done remotely. 2) Many disabled workers could have been working from home, but corporations just didn’t want them to. 3) Internet is a utility and not a luxury. 4) Universal healthcare is a necessity.

Once all the cybertrucks end up in scrap yards I wonder what kind of conversions you’ll see. Lowering the entire thing and knocking all the crap off to turn it into a mutant Baja Bug.

I really want to do sci fi on one richly detailed planet instead of a big bland galaxy with single biome planets

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.  Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

One thing I'm fucken sick of hearing is that people on the poverty line "don't want handouts." Well, the rich take hand outs. Maybe they're rich bc they were offered handouts. Maybe they're rich bc they take them. This "shame in receiving free money" for the poor but not the rich makes me SO MAD

One thing that's useful to remember is that genius, while rare, is not irreplaceable. There is no reason to keep smart assholes around when you can find someone comparably smart who isn't an asshole.

There's a rad feature built into Unreal 5.4 and onwards that allows you to see any other actor with a matching property. Just activate the 'Property Color' Viewmode then Ctrl Click on a property and any actor with a matching property will be highlighted. Great for tracking down issues! #UETips

Always play your game and test it!

I continue to be in awe of the way Helldivers 2 is still able to create "you had to be there" experiences. The participatory narrative feels better than the calendar-driven events offered by many other live-service games. Sure, the devs still control the content, but the story is about the players.
