My son has high functioning autism. Besides the obvious — the growth in diagnoses is because of a greater understanding of what it entails — this is utter nonsense. My wife didn’t take any pain medication at all when pregnant, she just virtually never does, and every prenatal vitamin has folate.

Somewhat related: My very self-aware 10-year-old autistic son is quite cognizant of the lies that the likes of Trump and RFK Junior spin about people like him for their own craven reasons, and he absolutely despises them for it. Suffice to say, I don’t talk him out of feeling like that.

I like this band. Something I found out relatively recently after reading @markyarm.bsky.social’s book on grunge: Alice In Chains was obviously an influence here, and evidently Layne Staley agreed to record some vocals for one of their songs, but he passed away before they could connect.

Another one: I once randomly met Jesse Eisenberg, his brother worked down the hall in my place and he was there visiting him, at that moment standing in the break room alone wearing a Mets cap. I introduced myself and we chopped it up about baseball for a while. Lovely person.

I had to watch 5 Dodgers games a week in 2006 for work. I wasn’t like a Vin Scully superfan — I actually really dig Jon Miller — but I have very fond memories of listening to Vin that summer. Never a word out of place. I’d have loved to hear him call Ohtani.

I love that Soto shrugged and added this to his game. He gets insane jumps, he’s just such an intuitive player. It reminds me of when Ohtani said last year that he needed to add a new wrinkle because he couldn’t pitch, so he stole a million bases. Soto makes $765 million now, so he added some value.

Jose Ramirez has to be the most underrated player ever, right? Like, he gets MVP votes because he’s a 6 WAR player like every year, and he seems a near shoo-in for the Hall of Fame, but you don’t typically hear a ton about him relative to other stars. Imagine if he played for the Yankees or Red Sox?
