It's damning for the leader of the Senate Democrats to not support the DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE for mayor in his city. Absolutely damning. An offense that should lose Schumer his leadership, in all honesty.

If the Democratic Senate Minority Leader @schumer.senate.gov did not vote for the Democratic nominee for NYC Mayor (that his constituents voted overwhelmingly for in the primary!), he should step down as Senate Minority Leader. He should not be leading the Democrats in the Senate.

If the Democratic Senator for New York didn't vote for the Democratic candidate for Mayor of New York, he should be stepped down from his leadership position in the senate.

What I’m hearing is that the leader of the democratic party didn’t vote for the democratic candidate. Which is disqualifying and he should be forced to answer for at every opportunity.

Schumer's Senate term doesn't end until Jan 2029, but in the meantime another Democratic Senator could definitely become Senate Minority Leader (or ideally Majority Leader), especially one who supports Democratic candidates that their constituents elected in the primary.
