In the 2010s, this country's elites were thrown onto social platforms with everyone else and could finally read what we all think about them and it caused them so much psychic damage that they decided to destroy both the internet and democracy to make sure nothing like it ever happened again.

It's a huge problem, and I think it demonstrates the broad lack of understanding/appreciation for design in our culture. People equate "design" with "aesthetics", but design means information is understandable, digestible, and organized.

Apple killing Launchpad and replacing it with a filtered Spotlight index reminds me of when I watched a dev struggle to type memorized commands for Git after he claimed a GUI was unnecessary because the command line was easier to operate. Like Launchpad, the GUI required only two mouse clicks.
