I've watched the first season of Tulsa King and the first two episodes of The Lowdown. I have to say, it is VERY apparent when a writer or director actually knows the people and places they are making shows about and when they don't. The Lowdown feels like Tulsa.

Saw Jurassic World Rebirth this weekend and really enjoyed it. But I will always go see a Jurassic movie. I thought it was a fun, well-paced action movie. It won't blow your mind or anything, but it was very entertaining.

I came across a BGG thread where people were debating the semi-cooperative aspect of my game, Winter Rabbit. It's fun to read. Throughout the development process, I had a few people ask why anyone would cooperate on a shared goal if they knew they'd lose the competitive game. Well...

Finished "I'm Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom" by @jasonkpargin.bsky.social. It was fun and funny with great banter and a lot of timely references. I love a good post-apocalyptic road trip story, even if it happens pre-apocalypse.

This is a very well written review. I played an early version of Molly House not long after the Zenobia contest ended. It was a brilliant game, even then. I can't wait to get my copy to see what @miasmacorp.bsky.social and @colewehrle.bsky.social have done with it since that early version.

I finally got back to playtesting on Saturday. I ran the first session of the new RPG I'm working on. The basic systems seemed to work well, and we identified some places that needed revision. Overall, it was a success.

It's 12am. You are in San Juan Argentina at a hot dog shop called Australia. Dragon Force is playing on the sound system. You order a 35cm hot dog (whatever that means). It's topped with provolone, olives, and bits of potato chips. You attempt to explain the concept of a "chili dog" to the locals.

After reading the feedback that a friend got on his game last year, I wasn't impressed by their judging process at all. The feedback was less than useful. Seeing a colonization game win sealed it for me. I do hope they improve, but I want to see proof before I support or enter a game in this.

There are apparently no stop signs in Argentina. Stop lights, yes. But no stop or yield signs on smaller streets. Everyone just vibes it out when they come to an intersection, and somehow they make it work. Coming from the US, it makes me anxious every single time.

First day of 2025 and we just gave final approval on the mass production samples for Winter Rabbit and Churrascaria. Production should be done in 15 days. Just a few more months till they start hitting backer doorsteps.

I've lived most of my life in OK. It's a great place for a lot of reasons that might not seem obvious to those from other states. It's my home. It's where my people are. We have people working hard to improve things, despite massive opposition. But this is real. Very real. And it is getting worse.

Because it's come up recently, a reminder that the Y2K bug wasn't overhyped. It was a huge problem and an huge number of people worked fast and hard and fixed it. Like the ozone hole. It's not a lesson in overhype. It's a lesson in humankind's ability to cooperatively solve problems.

Sometimes I think of all of us as being in one big soup. When I move myself or an object somewhere else I'm stirring the soup a little.

This is something that makes me so happy. Today I'm attending an art auction where all of the original paintings from my game are being auctioned for charity. The proceeds benefit a school art program on my reservation.

This has happened to me a lot over the years because some IHS facilities have no choice but to refer patients out, especially expecting mothers and those with complex medical needs. I have a 6K med bill in collections because of this and have been trying for years to get it removed.

The one thing I wish every young person knew is that everything you're doing with family now (the holiday traditions, etc) there is going to be a last time you ever do it, and you won't know it's the last time when it happens. It will sneak up on you, and sooner than you think.

Is #paxunplugged worth the 22 hour drive? Yes. Would I like to never make this dive again? Also, yes.
