Cellblock 18 is the other game on our upcoming Backerkit campaign. An asymmetrical 18-card game where one player is the prisoner attempting to build a face-down set, while the Warden is trying to prevent that with face-up cards.

Riposte! comes to Backerkit in just two weeks. This 2 player 18-card game pits players as rival fencers in a duel. Each card lists which moves can follow it and which it scores against. Play your cards right to outwit your opponent and strike.

We've spent the last week collecting data from backers, and non-backers on our mailing list to work out what went wrong with Mirror Agents campaign. As expected, the biggest issue for many was the economy. The game price was okay, but folks are saving their money for other things.

Regretfully, we decided to cancel the Mirror Agent Kickstarter campaign this morning. Some may question why we canceled so quickly, but the campaign completely failed to connect with backers. We are collecting and reviewing data, and we will regroup, revise, and eventually relaunch.

Just took that AI vs Human writing quiz we see posted all over the place. Only picked one AI, and it was a more modern author. I'm not sure if that makes me a better judge of writing, or if it points to modern writing just becoming more homogenius and thus naturally more like AI outputs.

PAX South 2015 is when Absurdist Productions started. David attended several panels on game design, and then, inspired by a dinner out with friends, designed Churrascaria. Since then, we've published 3 board games and 2 RPGs. It's been an amazing 11 years, and we look forward to many more.

Officially announcing the project we teased a couple of days ago. This one is still a good way out, but introducing 1000 Generations, a PBTA-based narrative RPG system designed by our own @willmthompson.bsky.social, that's steeped in Indigenous concepts.

We just got in Ahu Tiiko from @coyoteandcrow.bsky.social today. It's a gorgeous book. The use of uncoated paper actually leans into the spooky atmosphere of the setting while also making for a more environmentally sustainable product.
