Veteran legal writing professor; still positive, eclectic, and pragmatic
I would love to be able to follow litigation on Grammarlyâs use of expert names like this, but are they really going to try to defend it? Who signed off on this idea, seriously!

LLMs are used professionally by people who are basically getting paid to use it. Thatâs the opposite relationship readers have with news they value enough to pay for.

The Levi's ass commercial is the winner so far. Simple, no cameos other than stand-in Springsteen, actually sells its product, and I won't mind seeing the chopped down version another 10,000 times between now and Thanksgiving.

1/ Regarding the arrests of Lemon and Georgia Fort, my first thought when I saw it was to ask who would pay for their defense. Itâs something you might not have thought of unless you did journalism, professionally, but relevant to the âjust go start a newsletterâ solution to journalismâs woes.

"Prompting" is not general purpose skill. It's just a synonym for giving instructions. You can be amazing at giving clear instructions, but without domain knowledge *and* awareness of the context and the limits of the entity you're instructing, it doesn't matter how precise your articulation.

It seems increasingly clear the rampant noncompliance with court habeas orders happening in immigration cases now is not a problem of attorney ethics. Itâs a symptom of structural, institutional collapse at the department of justice.

This is a small immediate action you can take to support the businesses where the murder this morning happened. They were closed yesterday. Now theyâre going to have to close today. Few of them can take multiple days without business.

The lunatics who insist that you are giving away that you rely on AI if you use em dashes are going to be shocked to learn that I also must rely on a time machine â given that I overused em dashes since long before the world had ChatGPT or the like.
