#Breaking: Canadian academics are being urged to avoid all non-essential travel to the U.S. amid the Trump administration’s crackdown on research and education along with fears of being turned away at the border.

The CAUT (the main Canadian association of academic faculty and staff) now advises against non-essential travel to the US

"a promise to 'put an end to the imposition of woke ideology in the federal civil service and in the allocation of federal funds for university research.'"

Canadian land border crossings, split by same-day vs overnight trips. And contrasted with the change in US residents crossing the border. Same-day trips by Canadians are down 36% year over year, Overnight is down by 26% for a total of 680k fewer Canadians crossing the border this March.
