For the FES, I wrote a short brief about how mainstream party strategies have fueled far-right success. They move toward more anti-immigration positions to win voters back. This does not work, but shifts public opinion to the right. Parties then react to shifts in public opinion. A vicious cycle.

The problem Labour have is that they haven't done the hard work. They need a clear philosophy and that requires hard work. You can't simply swap out the personnel and magically fix not having done the necessary groundwork!

So when authorities say “she tried to run over an officer,” that is not a neutral description. It is a claim of intent that can be used to justify lethal force after the fact. When the state kills first and invents the threat afterward, it is not policing, it is death squad behavior. /end
