The perpetrators of sexual violence here are overwhelmingly White British men, not asylum seekers. Reform is engaged in a particularly dirty politics, using the press to scapegoat some of the most vulnerable people in our communities for political gain. Falsehoods harm. Reject racism in all forms.

Speed cushions are rarely the answer. They're a quick fuss-free measure, so are an easier sell to politicians. It looks like they're doing something when in fact they're not. Especially in the age of #CarSpreading. We'll be making this point to all contactable councillor candidates shortly.

Drilling for more oil & gas in the North Sea won't lower bills, it won't make us more energy independent and it won't insulate us from price shocks. A Labour backslide on this would be a huge betrayal. Double down on renewables. Insulate every home. Lower bills, permanently.

Israel's new law imposing the death penalty on Palestinians convicted of fatal attacks is a dangerous development of its apartheid system. It is discriminatory, racist, and cruel. Expressions of concern are not enough. The Labour government must act to end Israel's impunity.
