I made the documentary “City of Cars” which tells the story of the tragic death of Mayar Yahia and the family’s unquantifiable loss, to challenge the apparent political apathy about dangerous driving in Birmingham; and the resulting inherent threat as we walk or cycle in the city. Watch 👀 as drivers mount the pavement where a young mother pushes a baby, 20 metres from a primary school. This is normal in Birmingham. It’s the kind of behaviour which led to plans for an LTN in this area, which have now been abandoned by the Council after 6 years of development.

I made this film because I was so concerned about what I was witnessing on Birmingham’s roads every day. In the film I speak to people who have lost loved ones in road traffic collisions and follow the campaigning activities of @betterstreetsforbirmingham.org‬
