Damn. Almost cracked $12k in earnings. Final paycheck of the year put me at $11,898. (I work at a chain bookstore and, for the past handful of months, have regularly been pulling full time hours as defined by the IRS while carrying out shift manager duties.)

A sign I just pulled eleven hours at the bookstore on the Friday before Christmas: I just VERY strongly considered buying a six-pack of Angry Orchard. (Girl ahead of me in the checkout line, wearing a Best Buy shirt, had an enormous bottle of Pinot Grigio. Yeah, I feel that.)

What did I do in a past life, I ask myself, to deserve having to be responsible for managing this store three out of the six days directly before Christmas. AND the two days directly after it.
