Alyssa Healy shifted the dial to propel women’s cricket to its modern heights | Megan Maurice
The retiring wicketkeeper-batter’s nervous beginnings made way for her lasting impact on the sport – and an overflowing trophy cabinet “I’m not cut out for this.” This is not a sentiment that anyone who has observed Alyssa Healy’s long and storied career would have associated with such a champion of the game. But it was this thought that hit Healy early in her career for Australia, trying her hand at opening for her country for the first time and finding herself unable to hit the ball off the square, that demonstrates the depths of her humility and humanity. Anyway, semi-related, my brother thinks slow over rates should be punished by the availability of the new ball being delayed by however many overs they’re behind and I think I’m in favour of that. Especially if it gives us more Head-Labuschagne tandem filth.

According to the available stats, there have been 19 recorded fifties brought up off 19 balls or fewer in women's T20 cricket. Laura Harris has made 6 of them (and these account for all of her 50+ scores in the format). No other player has made more than one in their career.

This and the discussion about how academics can now just read AI summaries of things really drives home how much these guys always confuse the product for the goal. You don't do a coloring sheet because you want to have a colored sheet at the end!!! The coloring is the point!!!

As a Jew, I find it bizarre that people are forcing a 'Palestine' narrative onto the Bondi Beach shooting. The shooter openly claimed inspiration from ISIS; an organization that actually despises Palestinian nationalism in favor of their own global caliphate.

The most maddening thing is that it would be perfectly fine to write "9News reporter shot by police" because it is it accurate, true and backed up by the video footage. Even *if* the cops want to claim it was accidental, to word "shoot" says nothing about intent. We're using passive voice to lie.
