The "8" of "8647" was already somewhat visible by 1pm Wednesday, per the EarthCam on the National Mall. By 8am Thursday, the "8" was clear and the "6" was taking shape. Around 11:30am today, crews arrived to clear it. Now the "6" is mostly gone, but "8" remains.

Since Trump took office, there has not been a single arrest of a "paid protestor," or indeed a single piece of evidence that paid protestors exist. It remains something that Trump admin officials routinely claim to be investigating but have so far utterly failed to prove is more than a fantasy.

On June 8, 2023, the Supreme Court told Alabama to draw an equitable congressional map. Alabama flatly refused. Yesterday, SCOTUS validated Alabama's decision. "States can just ignore SCOTUS rulings hoping the Court will change its mind" is a pretty odd position for a court of law to endorse.
