Bemoaning AI won’t stop it, but f**k me, we need to be careful.

The things I can never understand - there are people of non-white descent, possibly first generation immigrants, working for ICE. Is it just because they think it shields them from their wrath? You can bet their white colleagues are talking shit about them, they'll be next.

The Pitt season 2 is coming in hard with criticism of AI in healthcare and I’m all here for it. If anyone asked me the number one wish for the NHS in the UK at the moment would be to remove Palantir from every facet of it. Truly evil company.

There's always _something_ that comes along to slow your day down in ways you didn't think was possible, even the most heavily tested tech isn't perfect. Yesterday - Singlestore no longer works in Orbstack as of engine version 9.0+ Today - 1Password is not prompting for my passkeys in arc.

Reminds me of a line someone dropped when I was deliberating on Jury duty: "Well, I'm a mother, so i think I know a little bit more about abusing children than you do."

the European mission to Greenland was fourth in the BBC news running order this morning, which feels a bit like doing a light "and finally..." item about the archduke's motorcade taking a wrong turn in Sarajevo

I think an important part of this is: If you follow Laravel creators on X: If they're using it to make money, encourage them to move away and use other avenues to make that money like Patreon. I'd subscribe a to a bunch instantly. Post about other Laravel, and dev communities you know about.

Said my piece on X in the Laravel subreddit, I really hope we can start migrating away as a community and it was so good to see so MANY people calling it out for what it is already in the comments.

Whipped up a quick script that converts a PHPUnit / Pest JUnit.xml output to a nice readable and filterable HTML file of your passes, skips and failures.

Generates a pretty looking HTML file from a junit.xml file generated by pest or phpunit. Just use `./vendor/bin/pest --log-junit report.xml` then run the script.

Would it be too much to ask for political parties to have to focus on policies that better the country, rather than focusing on policies for re-election? If you make lasting change, that people don't want rid of, that works. People won't want to vote in people who will immediately reverse it.

Was previously using Imgur for images for my blog because I didn't want image files in my git repo. But now it's banned in the UK 🤦♂️ "Vibe coded" a nice little Laravel app that I might wrap up using
@nativephp.com
as a desktop app - it just uploads the images to Cloudflare R2 and shows the MD code
