I'll outright say it: I have no issue with book piracy. It's been shown that preventing piracy does not convert pirates into buyers. Your problem is with capitalism which puts you in a precarious position & locks your art behind a paywall, not with readers who read by any means. Imagine a commons.

one of my problems with AI is actually a problem older than AI & it's treating the work like production instead of art. Art making is a living process, production is a dead one.

I mean, the university was already dead, it's where thought goes to calcify and perish, and their capitulation should be no surprise to anyone who has ever interacted with one. Any good thing you learned in college was because of good instructors not because the university itself is good.

The exclusion of trans people from public and academic spaces, removal of protections by human rights institutions, dehumanising language used by state news media, judicial tolerance of trans directed hate crime, withdrawal of medical care: all of this is very familiar to genocide scholars.
