After several day playing Pokopia, my problem with the game is that it's not really creative ? The game never really give you a challenge and ask you to find a creative solution for it. Instead you're always just following a plan that was made for you. To me that feel grindy and repetitive.

The way I see it we learn with the "Try something => see what's wrong with it => fix it => try again" loop and copying stuff is good because it make the "See what's wrong with it" a lot easier. You can just compare the original and the copy, identify what changed and fix it.

Part of the problem with the boom and bust isn't even the claimed narrative of "welp, we gotta save money somewhere" but instead an intentional cycle based on interest rates and stock value to effectively take out loans. Capital treats Labor as disposable to improve stock value. Lives get uprooted.

I aggregate all edges that intersect a test circle, and record the intersections. Then I simply step through evenly spaced points on that circle and find the closest intersection for each. Remove duplicates, move by a fixed distance outward, and voila! For compound coils, just add more circles.

Made a quick utility to auto-generate a rope tightly wrapped around arbitrary geometry. Supports odd shapes and multiple objects. Had the idea for this simple algorithm while taking a walk, and it worked a lot better than expected.🪢

I would say that climbing either is or almost is in demo-playable state ✍🏻🎉 I think that coding everything else should be a piece of cake. Physics is always tricky but I'm pretty satisfied for now. My only irl play-tester was having fun, so I hope I'm on the right track 🤞

I'm back with more cloud shaders ☁️😶🌫️☁️ Previous iterations were too annoying to use for horizon clouds, so I've returned to ye old faithful. Just a cylinder-like shape with a scrolling texture. Works pretty well.
