Building an ecosystem sim with procedural plants and animals has been bringing me closer to nature, which has been unexpected and wonderful. I find I'm paying way more attention to the bugs and plants around me because I'm inspired by their coolest features (which I will add to my cosmic horrors)

I love these guys. Their movement does not make sense. They are eldritch horrors. They are adorable. Nothing bad can ever happen to them

Look at this weird interaction -- the bug circles the rhino intrusively, then rolls it away. These animals still have very simple behavior at the moment ("move toward thing you want, move away from thing you fear, sleep cycle"), but the physics sim and interactions can make them look more complex

I usually make these videos a few weeks in advance of when I post them, and then I don't look at them again until I'm writing these descriptions, which means I FORGOT HOW CUTE THIS SLEEPY RHINO IS UNTIL JUST NOW
