I stopped using OdinInspector cuz it's mixing data & presentation too much. like 5 simple [SerializeField]s become a wall of code So I went back to vanilla [CustomEditor] IMGUI (not even UITK) BUT I see now that Rider has deep integration with Odin! So Iβm tempted again

I β too β love making trees! (sometimes I think: is *this* game really the best vessel for me just making a bunch of trees?! what game should I have made that's just about me making a bunch of trees for a year..?)

don't worry about being good at concept art, these tiny sketches are all I use, but they help me so much when going into Blender

I'm not using this greeble texture as much as I thought I would, for final models. but it's GREAT for blocking things out!

have to show this off real quick cause i'm quite proud of it! I built on top of Unity Splines for easier+faster editing πͺ Shift click inserts points on closest segment π» Moving snaps to ground ππ»ββοΈ but height of each point can be adjusted by holding CMD with SplineMesher's "conforming" it's a dream!

Itβs nuts. In all of this βApple Intelligenceβ marketing there is NOTHING about Siri getting smart enough to understand that βAdd apples and yogurt to the shopping listβ should create TWO reminders, not one or answer βdid I set an alarm?β not by reading out all 542 of my inactive alarms

ugh! wheel bays are so hard to model neatly into a car body, especially in 3D Pixel Art where you want to maybe also have (somewhat) square pixels mapped to the geometry..

thing #124 I learned while making a car game for a "nitro" effect, literally all you need is speed lines + reduced FOV you don't even need to make the car faster

heya! Just bought & installed Decalery.. Was wondering, what steps should I take to make decals work with a custom shader? - no z-write - offset towards camera? <- have you got a suggested method for this?) - anything else ?

I was today years old when I learned that you can add [CanBeNull] to [SerializeField]s to help you avoid relying on Inspector fields being set (if they are optional) (Maybe you could even configure it to where you need to add [NotNull] for even stricter safety!)

As we all know the game industry is going through very turbulent times, unfortunately this has also affected several members of our collective. The silver lining is that one of the largest rooms in our coworking space in Berlin will be available from September 1st. More info in thread...

your best code is that which you use constantly, but you forget it exists (because it works so well and gets out of the way) for me that's this super simple FSM implementation I use it constantly to formalize some logic that's getting hairy and it always improves the situation

in games you often want sounds to emit from an area a quick hack: move the emitter π to the *closest point* inside assets exist for this, but I didn't like their usability/performance, so I built one It's the best "Area tool" I've used in Unity! Even for non-audio stuff anyone want the src?
