I visited St Peter and St Paul’s in Runham this week where a nice chap with a frenetic little dog told me an Episode of Some Mothers do’Ave ‘Em was filmed. I just watched the episode for the first time since I was a kid. This time I appreciated the quality of Michael Crawford’s acting.

We need to encourage degree education that trains the mind and has no practical purpose. It outputted people who could apply their intelligence to anything. Universities should be purely places of academic learning, and not vocational training centres.

Popular culture used to play a vital role in holding society together. Someone may have completely opposite political views to you, but if you both laughed at the same sitcom on TV last night, you had something in common. Streaming destroyed that, and now we all hate each other.

Another church I visited yesterday that has an interesting feature I’d never heard of was St Andrew’s Mutford. It has a porch on its west tower called a galilee. It was for penitents. Whether its use was enforced or voluntary is unclear to me. Lots of naughty people in Mutford I suppose.

My plan yesterday was to take the bus to Little Ryburg and walk to Walsingham then down to Fakenham. A serious accident blocked the way and I quickly planed a new route. It was a bit unsatisfactory but the weather was mostly fine so not all bad. I walked from Bawdeswell➡️Billingford➡️Bintree➡️Foulsham
