This is the first time the whole wheat–to–bread supply chain has met to discuss improving the #nutritional qualities of wheat, flour and #bread. We are excited for what the day has in store.

Many of us in the UK don’t consume enough fibre, and this can have a detrimental impact on our #health. With funding from BBSRC @ukri.org we have shown we can breed better #wheat, including varieties with higher fibre and improved health potential – so why isn’t more of it reaching our plates?

Today we’re delighted to be co-hosting an event at #UKFlourMillers in London. More than 40 experts from across the wheat–to–bread supply chain come together for a @rankprize.bsky.social forum to discuss the adoption of improved wheat varieties, focusing on increasing #fibre in our staple foods.
