Completed in 1924, 30 Windsor Avenue (called the Wilson Apartments) was the first apartment building on this stretch of Riverdale Avenue close to Windsor Park. In 1928, major flooding of the Rideau River threatened this area of Old Ottawa South.

Mark is campaigning because he can. He’s using earned media by the power of his position because the only other way is through paid, and he can’t do that yet. And the official channels of the city and police are also becoming his distribution. These are norms being abused and he’s not going to stop

What Sutcliffe did with the $1 million bullshit announcement is leverage non-political services to intentionally subvert the ability of city council to even have a discussion and he should be taken to the carpet for it. Non-stop cuz he’s just getting started. Marks done this 2x already

And one of the issues that they have to counter is that what we see in the amalgamation of power into smaller and smaller concentrations groups/actions is that there’s a level of shamelessness required for this. And that shamelessness is giving folks the ability to rewrite the boundaries

city councillors who will not say anything / don’t care at the Dec 10th budget approval meeting about Sutcliffe’s fuckery of using media announcements to preempt the decisions of city council. Mayors are doing this cuz other levels of government are doing this 1/

This bus was parked on the wrong side of the road, on the sidewalk, blocking the sidewalk and bike lane. I asked one of the half dozen cops standing 20 feet away to write them a ticket and he said "I prefer not writing tickets". And then just did nothing.

The longterm livability of Ottawa has often depended on City Council’s decisions. There are last impacts to the shape of the city when the shortsighted personal interests of individual lobbyists are prioritized over the community’s public good. 🏘️🏰🏢

Ottawa just voted 15–10 for Lansdowne 2.0, a “revitalization” that saddles taxpayers with decades of debt so OSEG can call it partnership. The city gets the bill, OSEG gets the benefit. A ridiculous decision that will define Ottawa’s future for generations. Shame on council.
