Got word overnight my ODSP app was declined. While I will appeal; in effort to not move out of
#Ottawa
, I ask again if anyone need a smart, articulate, creative - with warfighting, full stack software, community org/building and poli/king maker skills. Needs to be remote, on call is fine.

Brian Doyle died earlier this month. He'd written "Angel Square", the first book that I'd read that took place in Ottawa. Here's my review of the book

From 1663 to 1673, 800 French women immigrated to New France. The Filles du Roi came to the colony in a program sponsored by King Louis XIV to boost the population of New France. Their descendants include Madonna, Angelina Jolie and Bernie Geoffrion. This is their story. 🧵 1/10

This is a great podcast about les Filles du Roi. The Bride of New France is a good piece of historical fiction that takes place against this backdrop.

On this day in 1989, an armed gunman murdered 14 women at École Polytechnique de Montréal. Another ten women and four men were injured. The anniversary of the massacre is commemorated annually on Dec. 6 as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
