Today is the birthday of Bill Blackbeard (April 28, 1926-March 10, 2011). Writer, editor, & founder of the San Francisco Academy of Comic Art (SFACA). Over 30 years, SFACA collected over 2.5 million comic strip clippings & pages, spanning 1894 to 1996. They are now at the Billy Ireland museum.
