GPs charging patients to confirm basic medical information is disgusting behaviour. They are the sole source of this information. Can you imagine if their university tutors charged them to provide references for job applications.

Really enjoyable workshop on GenAI run by the EUA today. Very lucky to be one of the people selected to attend.

My guess, and it is purely speculative, is that the absence of an announcement on funding for HE in #UKBudget24 means the government are resigned to either letting some universities 'fail' or engaging in a case by case bail out this year, whilst a longer term plan is developed. #AcademicSky #UKHE

An interesting debate being had about citing GenAI tools in academic writing. If AI is used to generate an initial idea which is then independently verified using other sources how should the use of AI be recorded? What are your thoughts academics of BlueSky?

Ran a really interesting seminar today about ways to make assessments more resistant to AI tools. Lots of really interesting discussion from colleagues with concerns and opportunities raised…every day is a school day!

Delighted that this paper on embedding retrieval practice in assessment has finally been published. It took a fair number of rejections and many revisions based on the feedback but it’s finally across the line! doi.org/10.1002/bmb....
