Regret to inform you that I am not now sitting down cos I've given up my seat for someone who needs it more. Hopefully my mum will see this - hi mum. 🤣

There's now a row with someone refusing to move from a booked seat because the lights above the seat aren't lit up. There's raised voices and pointing! 🤯

It's in part the nostalgia many Britons feel for a simpler time, which was fun and swish cos they were young: Yesterday's Britain, A Better Britain. You could whisk a romantic parter out to a Surrey country pub in your tiny British sports car for five bob and drive back after three pints.

It's also a sign that pundits and journalists have implicitly accepted the far-right conceptualisation of what constitutes the working class. You never hear about the young working class voters from cities, or black working class voters, who have shifted left

British politics writers.

Talking about the Reform vote all the time is a tell on how insecure so many of the commentariat are about their class origins. There's a massive young radical vote, traditional Tory vote or centrist dad vote. You don't hear about them cos your writers hail from those cohorts and are embarrassed.

Is anyone going to tell the broadcast and print media? They'll probably drone on and on about 'the Reform tide' for years yet, even though it's demonstrably on the way out.

Reform UK's poll score is now heading downwards very quickly. Turns out that being really unpleasant, remaining disorganised, having loads of skeletons in their closet, being reliant on a very unpopular leader and hating almost everything the public thinks doesn't work for long. Who knew eh.

It's been clear for a long time that the university idea we knew in the c20th is fading away and not coming back. It only existed for - what? - 150yrs or so, and in a mass form for 50 to 60yrs. Perhaps it's just always like this: the sun rises, the sun sets. Nothing lasts forever.

What we are witnessing here is an attack on what it is to be British: free to worship, free to speak, free to gather. We are not going to surrender everything that was built over centuries and defended in two World Wars. The British people will not put up with this - simple as.
