Grateful today for the freedoms I have from my disabled ancestors' activism. My right to exist - at home, work, and school - is their legacy. Disabled lives are worth living. Disabled lives are worth protecting. The work continues. Thanks to

Reminder: If Visa and Mastercard are allowed to limit what games you buy, there's nothing stopping them from limiting what food you buy, where you buy your clothes, what services you're allowed to pay for, and more. This is a fight for your freedom to spend your money on your terms. Keep calling!

Disabled people are 11 times more likely to die during labor/in the postpartum period than non-disabled people. Better education and smashing ableism is how we get out of this horrible stat. For the past year, I’ve been looking into the topic of disability and pregnancy for

I'm applying for some more disability services. I put onto the application prefer email. I put I'm an AAC user. I put my relay number as well as my cell (which was required). I had messages left on my cell phone telling me that if they can't get in contact with me in <x> days they'll close my case.

It's hard to explain to people outside this fight that Texas is currently trying to ban kids from using public libraries... but they are; it's passed out of committee, and it's going to a floor vote. 🚨If you know ANYONE in Texas it's time for them to call their reps and demand NO ON HB3225🚨

Ableism teaches us to abandon each other. Racism will disable you. Transphobia will disable you. Long COVID will disable you. Genocide will disable you. Climate change will disable you. Do not obey when told to abandon the vulnerable. Resistance & communities must be rooted in disability justice.

Ok so yeah, this has quickly become the #1 misunderstanding about the canceled grants the grants are not “subsidies” or “entitlements” to Harvard or Princeton or whatever they aren’t going into universities’ endowments they are competitive contracts won by these universities to do research

Pity is a wedge, not a bridge. When you say “at least I’m not like them” it’s easy to justify doing stuff that tries to stop us existing. It’s meant to make you forget that we’re here - that we can hear you. That we have needs and lives that are worth living. Eugenics is bad is praxis.

The fatality rate for bird flu in cats is staggeringly high (up to 90% depending on the study). Outdoor cats are at highest risk. Keep your cats inside. Don’t feed them raw food. Keep them away from birds (especially water birds). Wash your hands thoroughly if you’ve been in contact with livestock

Why haven't we seen more backlash against the GOP's proposed cuts to Medicaid? One reason is that people may not know they're on Medicaid, because Medicaid has different names in different states (see 🧵). Another is that some people may not realize that they (or their kids) could qualify.
