Google deserve everything from here on in. I used to defend Android and many of the apps kicking b/c FOSS but now... Sideloading custom ROMs and apks was the entire ass point of using Android (which is FOSS). This is literally vendor lock in (which was the entire ass point of the Epic lawsuit).
