We’re a quarter done with #100DaysProjectScotland! Day 25 of #100VancouverIcons is the white “sails” of Canada Place. A fantastic landmark at the waterfront and pretty much always my first stop when I’m showing visitors around.

Day 24 of #100VancouverIcons is The Raven and the First Men by Bill Reid. Carved from a single block of yellow cedar, it’s the centrepiece of the Museum of Anthropology (and very difficult to represent in one inch of cross stitch, so go see the beauty in person!) #100DaysProjectScotland

Day 23 of #100VancouverIcons is the Millennium Gate - the entrance to Chinatown. Opened in 2002, it replaced the much smaller version from Expo 86. #100DaysProjectScotland

Canuck the crow for day 10 of #100VancouverIcons. Voted as Metro Vancouver’s unofficial mascot in 2018, Canuck was famous for riding the SkyTrain and stealing things, including a knife from a crime scene. Sadly, he disappeared in 2019. #100DaysProjectScotland2026

I'm a big fan of Excel for anything genealogy-related! Another thing I use it for is tracking families through census records. Let's you track where the kids went, figure out how "visitors" are connected, and spot gaps between siblings where there may have been a child who died.

The big one that really helped me - make timelines! Include everything that you know about that person *and* their family. A great tool to find any gaps, but also gives you a sense of their life. Realizing a family lost several children over one summer is more powerful than reading a list of dates
