I also recommend the Aggressives to younger people because if you were a kid in the early 2000s you might not know how incredibly hard it was to be 1. Gay 2. Gender non-conforming in any meaningful way. A lot of the kids I went to school with were very homophobic even in elementary school in NYC

I recommend both these documentaries. The first one is a beautiful snapshot of time in early 2000s in New York City, which is the New York of my childhood. And it was beautiful to see that now 20 years later these folks are able to live their truth even more authentically.
