I'll follow a meme page on Instagram because they post (what used to be) esoteric and highly specific memes, but also they post so frequently they could only be managed by multiple people almost long. Where is subculture? Where is culture?

okay, re the "you will get [bullied]" thing wrt to posting beginner art. as someone who has been posting beginner and mediocre art for well over a decade at this point: becoming a lolcow because your art is bad is the very rare exception, not the rule.

I made this comparison to NFT bros but this is more appropriate for AI - this is like that town of thieves from Adventure Time where they all steal something from someone else all day long

This is true of fiction, too. No matter how similar the concept/setup of your story might sound to someone else's, the mere fact that it's you writing it will make it different, and the fact is most readers won't even make the connection/comparison. Don't worry about it.

I have a re-print of Steve Ditko's comic adaptation of Gorgo (aka the British Godzilla). It's not bad. But given his NYC status and Mr A, I really wish we got a Steve Ditko's Taxi Driver lol. I bet he would've drawn lines that Bernard Herrmann would've used in his orchestra

Re-reading some old F4 stuff - "This Man This Monster" for example - given how we now know how a lot of F4 strips were written (art first words second), i don't think the Stan Lee style suits the intimacy of Kirby's art. Imo ofc. But it was the 60s writing style.

I don't know who needs to hear this but sometimes a sketch is just meant to be a sketch and not a finished piece. Not everything has to be a "finished" thing. Maybe the sketch IS the finished version of that thing. If you learned from it, took what you needed, it had its purpose fulfilled.
