A 1994 ZERO MONTH promotion pack! I was in this great little comic shop in Tennessee, and I heard the owner mention he’s got a drawer full of promo posters. I asked if I could go through it and pulled some gems, all free. But I couldn’t wait to share this being a huge Jack Knight #Starman fan.

Besides the gorgeous Claudio Castellini cover featuring Namor, this issue included a really nice Super Skrull pin-up by artist Dante Bastianoni at the back as well.

This was a pleasant surprise… Fantastic Four Unlimited #6 has a Namorita appearance I didn’t know about. Namora too. Sure it’s an alternate reality but always nice to see one of my favorite New Warriors.

Well that was an exciting, funny, and beautifully drawn first adventure. And I loved the stand alone 7th issue this trade paperback included as well. I think I’m hooked on the Ghost Machine line and will be picking up The Blizzard: Tales of the Unnamed next!

Many years ago when I experienced a long drought in interest in comics, i sold off a big chunk of my teenage collection and put the rest into my storage unit in the cellar. I've been feeling terrible about leaving those remaining issues down there but haven't had the energy to empty it Until now.

Today is the birthday of artist Alice Kirkpatrick (Sept. 27, 1912-July 16, 1997). Although most active in the romance genre, she drew a variety of features in the Golden Age, including Quality’s Sally O’Neil & Betty Bates, Lady at Law.

When I read Deadpool, I can’t help but hear it in my head as Ryan Reynolds’ distinctive voice. But never more so than this line in Deadpool/Batman. “You don’t need to tell people you’re a cop, old timer. The Great Santini-Stache screams it from the top of your lip.”
