No one has dominion over what games/franchises you choose to be a fan of. - Plays a game for thousands of hours for years. - Watches a Let's Play video of the same game. Both of these can be fans of the same game for their own reasons. HOW they found appreciation in it is personal—and valid.

If you've seen any of their live action remakes, this isn't exactly a huge dip in quality.
