if Moana remake is a flop I think I can explain why. The most successful Disney remakes are based on nostalgia. Moana isn't even 10 years old yet. So that market isn't really there. and most children who are interested in the IP, likely prefer animation anyway.

There absolutely will be lawsuits coming. Those companies would've signed a contract with Sony where they make games for Sony's systems and the contract would've included those games being on physical discs. Ending production of discs without notifying them absolutely violates those contracts...
