Three Dems on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted Thursday to advance a judicial nominee who refused to say that Joe Biden won the 2020 election. At least one judicial advocacy group is fuming.

The indictment is absolute soup. Lab leakers have completely given up on proving their main contention and are now just flailing around looking for any rule violation or procedural misstep that makes it look like a cover-up happened.

The lab leak continues to be one of the most worrying cases of mass conspiratorial thinking in America. Zero evidence for it, but the right is frothing at the mouth to imprison anyone even remotely involved with COVID origins research and the center still thinks it's important to ask questions.

there's a good case to be made from this principle that a rationally constructed society would reward good posters with unimaginable wealth that would enable even better posting. we've given money to bad posters and the medium (and by proxy all of humanity) suffers because of this inefficiency

something sort of insane is that we have non-trivial evidence that posting is the top of all possible hierarchies of needs. some of the richest men in the world who could be on their mega-yachts choose to not only post, but orient their lives around posting related things

"A huge number of American votes are totally misinformed about everything and were convinced to vote for Trump for totally absurd reasons" is an opportunity, not an intractable problem. Dems need to start aggressively playing the game of winning these voters that they've ignored for decades.

it’s simple. Dems need to 1. prepare retaliatory gerrymanders in every blue state now that the VRA has been overturned 2. pack the court (and prosecute Thomas/alito) in 2029 I will only even *consider* primary candidates who support both of the above going forward

In case people didn’t know: This is the leading scholar behind the very first big legal challenge to Obamacare, and is now among the leading theorists supporting Donald Trump’s assault on birthright citizenship as spelled out in the 14th Amendment. There’s probably a throughline there.

Is the New York Times more biased than other major US news organizations that cover the trans community? Early data from our 2026 news tracker suggests they are. Of the 10 outlets we've been tracking, NYT had the fewest stories that quoted a trans person of them all. More here:
