I would like very much to know what would incentivize Canadian right wingers to de-radicalize. It seems they are unlikely to moderate in order to gain popularity and power.

Much as I know and like my American friends, they should be less offended if I compare their attitudes to those of Putin and Ukraine because - frankly - Canadians do not want to be American and that has been a crystal clear message going back to 1775. Our sovereignty isn't a joke.

In effect their relationship with us is the same as a toxic man who can’t fathom that his gf wants to break up. And how they treat us in that break up goes from violent borderline on murdereous to unapologetic and self centred. We know you. You’ll elect an American Navalny and minimize everything.

Really the more things go and the more Canada being Ukraine for the US arguments takes root in me. They view us as a fun quirk north of their border, but can’t accept that we are sovereign and a nation just as much as they are. They expect us to have no feelings or independent thoughts.
