I don't think we'll ever get to the point where home electrification feels quick and easy. The best path to making cases like this easier are 120V appliances (in this case, a 120V heat pump dryer).

I don't think we can judge 5-minute charger development unnecessary. There is a demand case for time saved so it's unclear why deployment would be worse than 1) street chargers + [slower] fast chargers on routes + 3) home / retail charging. This is where markets are helpful to industrial policy.

This is wild and has very deep implications eletrification, demand response, and variable renewable integration. Canadians 🇨🇦, AFAICT we haven't built one of these since 2015 and it was ~$1700/kW (CAD) (Shepard, AB). Inflation alone puts that at $2100/kW today. If US prices doubled...wow 🔌💡
