Or you're playing your game differently than other people and that's fine. Why is that so fucking hard for so many people to understand. Believing that your way is the One True Way is not a "nuanced TTRPG take," actually. đ

This is not solely a symptom of D&D, it happens in a lot of "Trad" role playing games, and in fact I first noticed it happening in a Vampire: The Masquerade LARP. The big problem here is that a lot of RPGs want the players to be in sole control of their PC's social interactions.

Huh, Iranian soldiers with basically $500 remote control planes are destroying billions of dollars worth of US Military hardware, civilians and soldiers in both Israel and Iran are dying, and gas prices jumped 30 cents in a single day, but at least some old guy who hates my government is dead.

I liked reading Mörk Borg when it came out, and Pirate Borg and CyBorg were cute, but if I see one more "Mörk <random nerd trope>" kickstarter, I'm going to go smash something with a crowbar. I swear these things are just being churned out of a mill at this point.

One of the reasons that I prefer OSRenaissance to OSRevival, is that the scholars and artists of the Italian Renaissance thought that they were uncovering lost secrets of the Romans and Greeks, butâmostlyâthey werenât. They were inventing whole new disciplines, sciences, and arts.

Last year we announced we were merging the mechanical crunch of the d20 system with the narrative flexibility of Fate. Some of you were skeptical of this move, and it turns out: you were right. We've reflected. We've deliberated. We've acted. So today we're proud to announce: Fate 5E 2024 Edition!

The most obvious lesson to draw from the leaked Signal chat is that these people really are morons. It's not a public act, it's not a schtick, there's not some secret back room where they drop the facade. They are genuinely stupid, incompetent people.

My grandma made homemade tortillas for us. We asked her to write down the recipe. - Add flour. Look at the bowl. - Add water. Mix. Look again. - Pinch of salt - Add Crisco or Manteca. Listen to the bowl. Look again. Flatten the tortillas and put them in the iron skillet. Eat.
