It's interesting how I used to stress over cleaning up every sentence I wrote, and now I'm like, "eh, if something is a little clunky, at least people will know it's me that wrote it instead of AI"

ugh, Satya kissing the ring to Elon Musk and Grok launching on Azure AI Foundry when Grok doesn't meet *any* of the trust and safety things Microsoft is always banging on about; I guess this (rather than say, listening to the protesters) is how you have to do business in America today

While CEOs who force RTO claim that it enables collaboration, research finds that video remote communication increases personal & professional bonds, as employees learn non-work info about each other & see each other as more authentic, human & trustworthy.

The reality is that you can't mandate RTO without losing talent. To the larger companies that are trying, the smaller ones say "Go ahead, take remote work away. Make your employees angry enough to quit, as doing so helps me attract your talent."

as a full time quant scientist 😃 I will share that our surveys, where we pursue aggressive recruiting w/ community-based methods like
@jason.energy
recommends, typically reach more like ~30% women in swe roles. I see many large surveys reach more like 3-7% which I agree is bad relative to base rates
