I finished my #comic this week, “The Holy Cephalophore,” and have been scanning all day yesterday…hopefully will be able to pick up the proofs today! It’s my first comic I’ve done 100% traditionally in years, done with pen and ink + Brush pen, about the Death of Richard the Lionheart.

Remembering that time on twt a professional industry artist made a post for her audience of other pro industry aspiring artists saying the most milquetoast "you need ur portfolio to be at a certain skill level to be hired for XYZ positions" and ppl from completely different art circles got mad at it

Someone asked "why dont artists post tutorials as much anymore? It's always behind a paywall" I think it is because every single time I have seen a tutorial go viral people end up SCREAMING at the artist "how DARE you tell me how to draw?!"

Tbf i do kind of feel this but mostly im bummed my house just has not been in a state for casual hangouts for years (renovation + family) and ive been realizing how this has been impacting my ability to really like, form connections. Its nice to go to other ppls places though when i get the chance
