Oslo: 0 people walking or biking were killed in 2019. "Oslo has implemented 50 kilometers of bike lanes, removed parking spaces equivalent to 4,250 cars from its streets, installed around 500 speed humps, and lowered speed limits" Transformational change is possible with bold leadership.

The primary reason for road wear is weight. Modern cars weight much more. EVs are even heavier. Other modes of transportation (e.g. bicycles), smaller cars and less sprawl (less roads to maintain) will fix those issues.
