the way that black women specifically have been targeted for the "crime" of trying to control their reproduction is one of those things that makes me all the more persuaded that one should understand the 13th Amendment as a broad right to bodily autonomy.

Well, if yesterday's map was ridiculous, I'm running out of superlatives to characterize today's. Countless locations from Pacific Coast to Great Plains are currently experiencing all-time record March warmth, w/ some locations approaching/exceeding April (or even May) records.

Really informative and helpful! There could be good reasons for silvopasture but, in the US context, it doesn't seem like climate change mitigation is one of them.

I read the statistics about how many CA community college students are housing insecure or homeless. I would lawyer up to fight NIMBYs, build student cooperative homes near each CA CC, hire staff to coach students how to self manage cooperatives. (I am Berkeley Student Coop house council alumna)

The right is coherent (in the complex systems meaning of coherence, with a high degree of fractal self-similarity) - they treat nature as they treat women as they treat immigrants...as objects to dominate.

When I work with movement leaders I always say - you are not the acceptable sacrifice for the good of the movement. If the movement depends on sacrificing you - it is being built off the same social norms the country was built on when it sacrifices a whole race of people to start its economic engine

A great joy of mine was how rare bald eagles were when I was a kid and how many there are around here now. We CAN come together to address our impacts on other beings and sometimes its is fast enough for recovery.

I mean, this is why at my church we have a soup kitchen and food bank and we grow some veg in the churchyard and we *also* celebrate Mass twice a week and we have incense and singing and bells and fancy vestments.

I was thinking about that statement "we are going meter intelligence just like water and energy"....and that's why nothing should be a commodity. We shouldn't be metering water, we should be celebrating, sharing, and stewarding it.
