Greenspan had a place in a private club on Key Largo, which had been established by self-made, Wisconsin richies and had a private school onsite. My first ever consulting assignment was to find a principal for said school. Thankfully I’d read Carl Hiassen and knew where to start.

Bob Bert’s record release party was lovely. Missed the Pussy Galore covers but happily caught Knoxville Girls reunion and Kid Congo, Mick Collins, and Bert’s project. And Chrome Cranks filled my heart with light and joy. As Chrome Cranks do.

I had no particular expectation going in, but season two of 'Beef' is precisely the lacerating critique of wealth derangement and choke-point capitalism that 'Euphoria' was always too dumb and glib to be. A hellish forced march through America's top-down cannibal predation. Resonances of peak Mamet.

Kudos to Jeff Tweedy opting to take a cut in royalties so Being There could be released as a 2 CD set for the price of a single CD. 39 minutes or so per disc is perfect for my attention span & many times the mood determines which disc I want to play.

That particular song is a masterpiece and so amazing live. The album to me is like a mission statement that “we” are going to go on a journey of exploration together. It’s been quite a journey and still going strong and still always filled with empathy.

“A great American record” is pretty much exactly how I would describe it. I bought it the week it came out and still fire it up a few times a year. It contains multitudes and so much of it still resonates with me on many deeply personal levels
