My overall thinking on Silksong's difficulty is, I think, that the game isn't hard for the sake of being hard; it's hard because it contains some of the absolute best boss fights in any game, ever, and it wants you to be able to appreciate them.

Just like in Dark Souls, the greatest boss fights are against bosses that are similar in size and affordances to the player, they have that 'duel' feeling, and this is one of the most intricate and polished iterations of that concept ever done.
