The father was taken by ICE on October 24th. He has no criminal record and they followed the legal processes for asylum. Please, if you are able, consider donating to help this family of Venezuelan asylum seekers. They need money for food, housing, and to be able to call the dad in detention.

New York Times already trying to discredit Katie Wilson. It’s ironic they try to paint her as boring, which would just mean she won even without the same flair as Mamdani. Also, look where the “experienced politicians” have gotten us.

Katie Wilson is Seattle’s next mayor. In a stunning comeback as votes were counted for over of a week, she made up more than seven points to win. This is a major victory for progressives in the city.

A right-wing agitator at the Portland ICE facility attacked a protester in the driveway. It resulted in a skirmish with multiple people fighting, but it was quickly broken up by Portland police. The man who started the incident requested an ambulance and was taken away.

A skirmish between protesters and a right-winger broke out. PPB has detained two people on disorderly conduct and is interviewing them. More could be arrested and possibly have different charges. Currently unclear how the incident started.

Less than 100 people down at the Portland ICE facility at the moment. A small group of right-wingers as well. Very quiet overall.

HAPPENING NOW: Portland Police Commander Franz Schoening testifies that federal officers on Oct. 18 barraged protesters with crowd control munitions — not because of any violence but because another federal officer accidentally shot tear gas onto the roof of the ICE facility.

Bruce Harrell’s campaign is using a KUOW story to paint Katie Wilson as secretly rich. The problem? It isn’t true. Her parents only started helping with childcare this year, not her bills, and KUOW has since added context after refusing to correct the piece.

Right-wing agitators at the Portland ICE facility appear to have committed multiple illegal acts on Saturday night. Not included in this video is the crowd going to a resident’s apartment across from the ICE facility and live-streaming their harassment.

One arrest by federal agents at the ICE facility. No clear reason—protesters did not cross the blue line. One officer shot less lethals for ~30 seconds, even as the person he was aiming at crossed the street and went down to the intersection. He appeared to laugh/smile while doing so.

Protesters have marched to the ICE facility. I count five federal agents on the roof with various less-lethal weapons. Still over 100 protesters despite wind and rain.

Update: DSA said they removed Rockne Roll because they were worried about trolls and assumed this was a fake name. They sent him the recording after the meeting when they realized the mistake.

A sloppy, irresponsible headline by The Oregonian. An attempt to paint DSA city councilors as antisemites when they didn’t even host the event. It’s debatable if this is even news, especially when it’s just some guy’s claim and he wouldn’t even comment after DSA gave an explanation.
