lol I don't think a lot of white people believe that Black people are reliable narrators of our own stories. And IMO this comes from white people wanting to downplay how much anti-Black racism shapes Black people's lives.

Just got gassed pretty good at the labor union anti-ICE protest in Portland. Massive march, 5-10k strong. Vibes were very much liberal rather than radical. Lots of kids and older folks. They gassed the whole crowd as soon as it marched on ICE, in broad daylight.

The depth of his hate for disabled people is and always has been breathtaking. It’s born of an arrogance I’ve rarely seen-he believes that he is some kind of ubermensch, and the only way he could ever become disabled is if some insidious conspiracy did it to him. Evil, evil man.

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

New video shows the man who was killed moments before the shooting. He was peacefully standing in the street observing before ICE agents started pushing him for no reason.

All the ways ICE is going to rationalize an execution in the streets will be how cops always do it. They had a gun. They were no angel. They had health issues. All common tactics used by cops for years to discredit someone after they killed them.

I’m glad to see Bill say this. But when after a century of just the type of abuse we saw today - relentless and cruel, ensnaring our children and intimidating our communities - young Black people said in frustration, anger, and demand for change “defund the police” - so many of you denounced them.

“The officer feared for his life” line that we can all so clearly see as a lie here is the same excuse used when cops shoot Black people. It’s worth considering why more people see the lie for what it is when the victim is white & the shooter is ICE, vs when the victim is Black & the shooter a cop.

Two queer women with a 6 year old in school today stopped to film ICE and for their bravery ICE agents murdered one before the other’s eyes. The grief in the survivor’s voice is a knife to the gut. Destroying people and their bonds is what ICE has always done.

For too long, a badge has been a permission slip to commit murder. ICE agents. NYPD. Over and over and over again. It's all reckless state violence, and until the individuals and agencies face real consequences, it will not stop. NO MORE state-sanctioned murder.
