Reminder: In light of Bad Bunny's Superbowl performance spotlighting Latino culture, here's a hefty list of Latino speculative fiction authors I curated if anyone wants to take a gander and read some phenomenal work. Much love to all!

One of Studio Ghibli's underrated ones, Whisper of the Heart! It's a cute romance between a writer and a violin maker.

"Who Can Hold a Princess" in

takes the perspective of a sword in a quietly agonising depiction of sapphic yearning. The perspective of an object that can't act by itself perfectly complements a character whose act is un-reciprocated.

I don't know who needs to hear this but if you aren't making art of any kind because you are afraid that whatever you manage to bring to earth won't match the idea of the thing you have in your head: I have never once succeeded in doing that and I never will that's queer divine dissatisfaction.

The thing about writing advice is that no writing advice works for everybody. Or even a large percentage of everybody. The "write every day" thing is like workshops, Clarion, MA degrees, how-to books, special software, etc, it is not for everyone. Nothing is. 1/-

we're living through a fast-paced technological revolution around green energy and it's getting about 1% of the attention it should. In a month, no one's gonna be burning coal in the UK for the first time since the steam engine was invented.

That an editor can love your story and still reject it for X or Y reason that has nothing to do with the quality of your work. That short stories are an insanely competitive market. That writing a good story isn't good enough if it doesn't meet the editor's taste.
