It's amazing how people can say something negative that gets into your head and won't leave. Just strobes over and over for months or years until you want to scream. And all of your evidence just bends into shape around it.

Last year was the year of the audiobook. It was the only way I could focus on reading. Now I might have to get a library hold of the print of my current audio read because all I want when I get home is silence. Brains are weird.

My hobby is finding new things to worry about

The process of querying is so up and down. You get a request! You're joyful! You get a rejection. You're the worst writer and no one wants you! It's hard to stay grounded.

Bad news: Restaurant week resy was cancelled so I can't go out to dinner with my friend. I am bummed. Reframe: At least it's more time to read MOONFLOW?

This was a frustrating, annoying day and I am in a mood so my grand plan to write a ton of words didn't materialize, but I got a little over my 100 done so hey, it counts for something. Progress!

I love Szechuan food. The peppercorns, they are so delightful. I could eat like a thousand.

It is almost time. After dinner...we do horror.

Does anyone have any good lists of weird or unusual writing prompts? Looking for something to do some exercises but I get bored of "Describe a fall day" like come on now. #writing

Today's goal is to write and not worry about the end result. Just write the words. They can always be revised. More can be added. Things can be changed. I definitely paralyze myself when I focus on the outcome. So...just #writing. No thinking.

I wish writing workshops and such were geared ever towards people with day jobs. Like, how hard is it to schedule SOME things on a weekend or night? Not all of us can afford to write full time. :(

I think I'm going to let myself skip my 100 words today. I had a medical appt after work and I'm just exhausted, and if I make it "every day" with an iron fist I'm going to drive myself nuts just writing words for the sake of writing instead of writing good words. It is decided.

So I bought myself a Brick aka one of those things that blocks apps on your phone, and then you have to physically scan it on your phone to unlock. First night was good! I actually have to take off my magnetic wallet to scan it to it's extra annoying, so I didn't try to doomscroll once.

The mood of my horror novel WIP is Nightwish, Within Temptation, Eluveitie, and some of Taylor's darker edgier song like "Elizabeth Taylor."

Despite feeling crappy, I HAVE written almost 17k in my new horror novel since Jan 18. I'm really proud of myself for making progress even though it's felt like my life is on fire. And I'm doing it in a slow, progressive way so as to avoid more burnout. Self-care! #writing
