I would DEARLY love to see an end to the “if I can do it, you can too” attitude. I get it, it’s *supposed* to be an encouragement, but too often its effect is a blend of toxic positivity and judgmentalism. It doesn’t encourage, it doesn’t help, it just offers bland cheerleading.

I do not hold to the notion that 100% of homophobes are just closeted gay. It’s not that cut and dried. However… If being gay is a choice and they are “choosing” not to be, then it absolves them of the “sin” and makes them feel more pious, which to them justifies being judgmental.
